Description This chapter focuses on diagnostic competence as one of the factors influencing the quality of instruction. It briefly defines diagnostic competence and related concepts, summarises studies that deal with similar issues, and proposes a research tool for evaluating the diagnostic competence of (prospective) EFL teachers which sill use videosequence of real classroom situations embedded into an e-learning environment.
