Description | Acute hepatitis B is in most casese a benign disease that does not requireed use of antiviral treatment. Administration of virostatic drugs is indicated only in case of severe protracted or even fulminant acute hepatitis B. Most experience in this indication exists with lamivudin. For modern and highly effectivetreatmentof chronic hepatitis B are PEG-IFN, entecavir, and tenofovir.In 2011 there has been a fundamental change in the therapy of chronic hepatitis C due to commercial availability of new antiviral drugs - boceprevir and telaprevir. |
