Description | The study is a part of a project supported by Czech Grant Agency (No. 406/09/0611). This exploratory study contributes to clarifications of relations among dispositional optimism/pessimism, optimism/pessimism as an explanatory style, selected personality preferences and health-related behavior. The main aim of the presented study is to verify the relationship between dispositional optimism/pessimism, selected cognitive styles and activity towards own health on a sample of Czech respondents (N=1617). Degree of optimism/pessimism (disposition and explanatory) of Czech university students did not appear to be a significant predictor in relation to the individual factors of health-supporting behavior. Finally, the cognitive dimensions of MBTI in their relationship to the health-related behavior are discussed. |
