Description | Though no part of the current research within the framework of Transparent intensional logic, TIL, is actually called 'deontic logic', 'action logic' or 'logic of imperatives', TIL has a potency to develop, or to already be, such logic. It may well evolve from Tichý's and Oddie's earlier works (published in 1980-83) and Kuchyňka's actual work on deontic phenomena (to be published). Our talk concentrates on three topics. 1. (Tichý's) analysis of tenses (and temporal discourse) and episodic verbs (including also perfect/imperfect verbs), which concerns 'working place' of agents, their actions and norming of their actions. 2. (Tichý's and Oddie's) logic of ability, freedom and responsibility, which focuses on restrictions in performing an action and consequences of an actions. 3. (Kuchyňka's) analysis of norming acts and related deontic phenomena, including analyses of imperative sentences. |
