Description | This study is about ethnic armed conflict in the Caucasus region. It is built on three main elements. First, creation of the theoretical model of ethnic conflict; second, applying the model on the ethnic conflicts in the Caucasus; third, identification and finding the conditions under which the conflict become violent. By proposing a typology of armed conflict, the study seeks to achieve analytical clarity and contribute to conflict analysis. My approach, typological theorizing, provides a rich depiction of phenomena and identifies conditions under which the conflicts may escalate. |
