Description | Author in his paper briefly considers the requirements placed on the professional education and experience of police officers investigating economic crime and the influence of such professional expertise on the quality of the investigation. If some omission or lack of knowledge of a police officer investigating economic crime results in a procedural mistake, it is frequently very difficult – it not impossible – to remove such mistakes in later stages of the criminal proceedings. The quality of investigation thus considerably affects the course and the success with which evidence is presented at the main trial, and subsequently, the overall result of the case. It is then undeniable that the quality of the work by the police authority influences the success and the efficiency of entire criminal proceedings. |
