How to proceed for interruption of studies?
Illness, family or financial reasons - whatever your motive for stopping, there are always several steps you need to take.
You must apply for a break in the first place. The application is addressed to the faculty, submitted on the appropriate form at the at the foreign department, at the faculty's mailroom, via IS MU (Document Office - Submitt a new application - Application for Study Interruption), or it can be sent by post. If you need specific information regarding your studies and interruption, you can consult the status of your studies at your Faculty International Office or Office for Studies (depends on the faculty) to resolve the situation individually.
As a rule, the interruption is requested after the end of the semester or before the beginning of the next one. If a student applies after the start of a semester but before the end of the period specified for changes in course enrolment, the course may be interrupted for only that one semester. Once the changes have been completed, study must be interrupted at least until the end of the following semester.
You will receive a decision on the suspension within 30 days. It always states from when to when the study is interrupted, the date and method of re-enrolment, and any other binding conditions associated with re-enrolment and whether or not the interruption counts towards the total period of study.
