About us

Projekt SPOLU („Project TOGETHER“) is a platform securing long-term cooperation of mainly psychology and medical students, psychiatric patients and mental health professionals in psychiatric facilities across the Czech Republic. The aim of Projekt SPOLU is improving quality of psychiatric care in our republic, widening free-time offer at psychiatric and social institutions, enhancing quality of study of psychology and medicine and offering better contact between students and professionals. One of our next goals is raising of public awareness about mental health care and mental illnesses. Students in Projekt SPOLU regularly visit patients and organize various free-time activities for them to provide them with a support during hospitalization, to help them improve their social skills, boost their confidence, to support their resocialization and to help them recover. The free-time activities include creative expression in art-team, music-team, drama-team or biblio-team. It also involves training of cognitive functions which is provided by students in our cogni-team. We also help people with mental illness to learn basic relaxation techniques in our relax-team. Finally, we also aim to promote emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the participants in our dance-movement team. The more experienced students can be involved in auxiliary-team and help as recorders during therapy leaded by professionals or take part in clinical team and meet with client one to one. There are currently branches in Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava, Praha, Plzeň and České Budějovice and we are beginning in Liberec as well. The original and still the greatest branch is in Brno, where are involved more than 170 students of psychology FF MUNI, FSS MUNI and medicine LF MUNI. Activities take place at Clinic of Psychiatry at FN Brno, at Psychiatric Hospital Brno, at Psychiatric ward at Military hospital Brno and at Emin zámek.
