The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Studies at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for an academic position: 

Assistant with a focus on teaching psychology in the field of education, sports, and safety

The Department of Physical Education and Social Sciences is seeking a new colleague interested in research and teaching in the field of education, sports, and safety, considering current and future trends.

Faculty of Sports Studies is a smaller, progressively developing faculty. Its mission is to contribute to physically active and healthy lifestyles for all age and performance groups of the population, as well as to advance knowledge in the field of sport and physical activity. The faculty is located in a modern university campus in Brno-Bohunice.

 

Job Description:

  • Teaching subjects with a focus on psychology, sport psychology, and safety psychology (e.g., Psychology for Teachers, Developmental Psychology, Teambuilding, Health Psychology and Psychopathology, Psychology for Security Forces, etc.).
  • Engaging in research, project work, and publication activities.
  • Supervising and evaluating diploma and bachelor theses.
  • Contributing to the University’s role in popularizing science and research.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a master’s degree in psychology.
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the Czech language and active proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Exhibits strong communication skills, an active attitude, and a willingness to pursue further education.

Additional Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience in teaching at the university level.
  • Previous project and publication activities.
  • Experience in crisis intervention.
  • Experience in teaching safety-related subjects.
