University measures taken regarding COVID-19
- MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The risk assessment level is currently WHITE. It is not compulsory to wear respirators in all MU buildings.
- All covid-19 policies related to entering the country have been suspended. See also current restrictions in the Czech Republic.

MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The university currently has a “WHITE LIGHT” rating, determined by the MU Crisis Board. University faculties, institutes, and offices may declare a higher alert level than the university-wide level or introduce stricter rules than elsewhere at the university. Follow the websites of individual faculties and the colour-coded signs hanging on the exteriors of MU buildings.

Scala University Cinema reopens on Monday
On 16 February, the Scala University Cinema was temporarily closed for safety reasons. However, on Monday 27 February, the centre of social life that has been run by MU for ten years again opens its doors to visitors interested in film screenings, courses, lectures and other performances. Masaryk University decided to reopen the cinema based on information received from Brno City Hall, the owner of the premises.

MU lends helping hand to Ukraine
When the war in Ukraine started a year ago, Masaryk University immediately responded to the situation and started providing assistance to Ukrainian students, employees and their families through the MUNI HELPS Volunteer Centre and other means. Hrachovina: message to future people thanks to MU scientists
Situated at the newly renovated Mendlovo náměstí, a sculpture titled Hrachovina was unveiled on Tuesday to commemorate Gregor Johann Mendel, the founder of genetics whose legacy is forever tied with Masaryk University.
