University measures taken regarding COVID-19
- MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The risk assessment level is currently WHITE. It is not compulsory to wear respirators in all MU buildings.
- All covid-19 policies related to entering the country have been suspended. See also current restrictions in the Czech Republic.

MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The university currently has a “WHITE LIGHT” rating, determined by the MU Crisis Board. University faculties, institutes, and offices may declare a higher alert level than the university-wide level or introduce stricter rules than elsewhere at the university. Follow the websites of individual faculties and the colour-coded signs hanging on the exteriors of MU buildings.

MU launches programme for Czech compatriots
It is estimated that as many as 2 million Czech compatriots live in various parts of the world. Many were born abroad and have never known the Czech Republic. A newly launched programme for compatriots aims to attract them to Masaryk University, allowing them to get to know the country of their ancestors.

Structural survey in summer to determine Scala’s future
The city of Brno and Masaryk University join forces to find a new home for the cinema. Mayor Markéta Vaňková and Rector Martin Bareš are aware of the importance of the Scala cinema on Brno’s cultural, academic and community map.

Newly crowned King Charles III is recipient of MU Great Gold Medal
The coronation of King Charles III took place on Saturday 6 May. In 2010, the newly crowned British monarch – then Charles, Prince of Wales – received Masaryk University’s Great Gold Medal in addition to his many other awards and honours.
