Project information
Resilience of society in times of crisis II (ODOL)

The project creates an opportunity for collaboration between PhD and MSc students and academics and experts from other research institutions (including those abroad). It also encourages independent professional work by students and develops interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to investigating environmental problems and their social contexts.
The research team is studying resilience from the perspective of sustainable human societies as well as non-human entities and systems (e.g. animals, forests, landscapes, cities). The interaction of the natural environment and natural processes with society is analysed, especially in times of crisis. The topic is pursued through the lenses of the humanities (environmental history, aesthetics, ethics, art theory and history) and the social sciences (political ecology, ecological economics, environmental sociology, environmental pedagogy and climate education).
