Description | In many countries, private employment agencies play an important role for well functioning of labour markets and cooperate with state authorities in the fight against unemployment. However, contrary to public placement services, the private employment agencies provide their services for commercial purposes that is making financial profit which can cause abuses of workers or job-seekers using their services. For this reason, national legislations regulate position and activities of private employment agencies in the labour market with the purpose to prevent the mentioned abuses. The article deals with standards relating to regulation of private employment agencies adopted by the International Labour Organisation. First original conventions and recommendations adopted with the objective to abolish fee-charging employment agencies are dealt with. Then current instruments stating minimal standards for national legislation of member states that has ratified them and their implementation into the Czech national legislation are analysed in details. |
