Description The SENI programme had visitors from the Czech Republic – six academics from four different universities: Palacky University in Olomouc, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, and J. E. Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem. They are working on a research and training programme for teachers of arts subjects, enhancing their skills in teaching students with SEN/D in inclusive classrooms. Therefore they were interested in comparing the practice of Czech Republic with the practice at schools in the UK. They met with Dr Rebecca Heaton and talked about arts education. Dr Ivana Lessner Listiakova informed them about the SENI programme and facilitated a discussion in a session for the first year SENI students. The Czech colleagues lead a practical session for the students about inclusion through techniques of drama, music and dance. In addition to the busy programme at the university, they also visited a local school, the Northgate School Arts College.
