Description | The article deals with fixed-duration employment relationship (in some documents called also fixed-term work) which is one of the atypical form of work. Fixed-duration employment relationship means a type of employment relationship where the end of the relationship is established by objective conditions such as: reaching a specific date, completing a specific task or the occurrence of a specific event. As a matter of the fact that the end of the employment relationship is stipulated by an employer and his employee in advance the later is less protected by legal provisions at the moment of termination of the employment relationship than the worker with the open-ended employment relationship. The fixed-duration employment relationship terminates by reaching the established moment no matter whether the employee concerned engages the maternity or parental leave or is on the paid sick leave. |
