Description The aim of study was to explore influence of common principles in training of movement structures in professional selfdefence. There were 20 police students in experimental and 20 in control group. During controled experiment each grup was educated and trained in special physical education (144 hours). Educational programmes in both of groups were the same in amount of training hours, structure of training, frequency (2 + 1 hour per week), intensity. Training for both of groups was the same in psychical, physical, tactical and technical dimensions. Experimental factor was grounded in using of didactics methods. In experimental group didactics principles of martial art aikido were used. At the end of experiment, all students were tested in using selfdefence techniques and videorecorded. Five experts evaluated videorecords according to specific rating scale. Using of experimental factor caused significant difference in quality and effectivnes of sefdefence techniques. Using of aikido principles in selfdefence training had positive influence to learning selfdefence techniques.
