Submitting visa and residence permit applications as of May 11, 2020

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has announced information regarding the submitting visa and residence permit applications.

The e-prezenčka will end in May. The libraries will fully open again

After the State of Emergency ends, i.e., from 18 May, remote access to the e-prezenčka application, which provides access to the most used publications from the MUNI libraries, will no longer be available.

Stay of foreigners in Czech Republic after the end of State of Emergency

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has updated information regarding the stay of foreign nationals at the territory of the Czech Republic after the end of State of Emergency. All foreign nationals can legally stay in the Czech Republic for an additional 60 days after the end of the state of emergency – that is until July 17, 2020.

Instructions for foreign students on how to currently enter the Czech Republic

The Government Decree no. 443 defining the rules for the Czech citizens and foreigners entering the territory of the Czech Republic approved on April 23, 2020, has extended the possibilities for entry of the EU citizens (as well as the Schengen area and United Kingdom citizens) to the Czech Republic, effective from April 27, 2020, to study purposes under the following conditions:

In response to the emergency measures due to the risk of infection with COVID-19 issued by the government on 23 April, MU Accommodation and Catering Services allows students to return to halls of residence and ending the validity of the 70% discount on accommodation fees as of 19 May under the conditions given below.

Regarding the newest government decision and a Rector’s new emergency measure effective from Monday 27 April, all students may access Masaryk University buildings for individual examinations and other individual forms of fulfilling study obligations, including laboratory work.
