Immunophenotypisation of plasma cells using multiparametric flow cytometry brings enough data to define and distinguish heterogeneous population of neoplastic plasma cells from their normal equivalent. The aim of this project is to identify phenotypic profile in subjects with monoclonal gammopathy. The pathophysiology of plasma cells and changes in their behavior will be studied on cellular and molecular level to detect possible relationship between these changes and possibility of malignant transformation in monoclonal gammopathy of
undetermined significance. This project can be used to identify new predictive and prognostic markers. They could lead to definite determination of diagnose, assessment of risk of progression in asymptomatic monoclonal gammopathies with consequent well-timed and accurately targeted treatment. The markers also
could help to evaluate minimal residual disease and efficacy of treatment.
