Results

The research project „ Evaluation of Selected Map Skills Development Within the Use of Geo-Information Technologies in Geography Teaching at Basic School “ is focused on the implementation and use of the modern information technologies for geography teaching and its influence on map skills acquirement and development. The research results from the recent development and using of computer technology and its implementation to the school as well as to the geography teaching. Within the project, it was prepared and realized small-parameters research focused on development of two map skills: map reading and map using. By the help of experimental method with using pretest – posttest, the level of map skills development was researched. Between pretest and posttest it was used the purposeful intervention. During the time of purposeful intervention pupils worked with geoinformation technologies according to tasks in prepared worksheets. It was used the method of t-test for statistic elaborating of results. By the help of this method it was ascertained statistically important difference between pretest’s and posttest’s results. As conclusion, it is possible to say that pupils achieved higher level of development of map skill: map reading and map using by using geoinformation technologies.
