Vaccination at Masaryk University

• We do not plan to vaccinate at Masaryk University yet. In case of unfavourable epidemic development we will inform you.

Vaccination at national centres

If you are interested in vaccination, please register at national vaccination centres (also available in English), at vaccination centres without registration or with your GP.

• Certificates of vaccination of the basic scheme are valid for 270 days (9 months) from the start of the certificate. A booster dose is required to extend the validity of the certificate. Upon application of the booster dose, the validity of the certificate is immediately extended. At this time, the validity of the booster dose is not limited.
• As of 18 July 2022, it is possible to be vaccinated with a second booster dose 3 months after the first booster dose. The booster dose can be a modified version of the original Comirnaty (Pfizer/BioNTech) and Spikevax (Moderna). These vaccines target the Omicron BA.1 sub-variant as well as the original SARS-CoV-2.

  • If you are a holder of the European Health Insurance Card – EHIC (i.e., you are a resident of the EU, EEA or Switzerland), you may file an application with the Czech General Health Insurance Company (Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna, VZP) for the registration of your card. You may do so at VZP offices in Brno. You will be asked to submit evidence in the form of your EHIC and an ID document. The registration will provide you with a certificate issued by VZP, which substitutes for the European Health Insurance Card and contains your personal identification number valid within the Czech Republic. This certificate and personal identification number can be used for vaccination in the Czech Republic.

• MUDr. Věra Přibylová, MU’s contractual provider of occupational medical services, is not administering COVID-19 vaccinations.

Self-payers registration guideline for the COVID-19 vaccination in the Czech Republic:
Masaryk University is not a provider of this vaccination process, however, we prepared for you the registration guideline below.

• Go to https://registrace.mzcr.cz/samoplatci and switch to English.
• Enter your phone number (non-Czech numbers can now be used) and check the box for your GDPR consent.
• Enter the PIN that comes to your phone on the webpage that pops up (less than 1 minute).
• Fill out the form, including selecting a vacation centre. Brno is in the region 'Jihomoravský'.
• When choosing your vaccination centre keep in mind the availability of vaccination spots. You can check site capacity and approximate waiting times here.
• Click 'send request'.
• Wait for your second PIN (this may take up to a week).
• Once you receive your second PIN, log in and select your date and time. Keep in mind that you must come for a second jab at the scheduled time.  Make sure that you show up to receive your second dose at the scheduled time.

The e-loan service allows members of the MU community to read study materials from MU’s library collections online, although downloading and saving them is not possible.

The operation of canteens is regulated by the director of MU Accommodation and Catering Services (SKM MU) and the MU Crisis Board based on the current epidemic situation.

It is compulsory to wear FFP2/KN95 respirators in canteens and seating arrangements in are adjusted so that social distancing can be ensured. Please find more details here: https://www.skm.muni.cz/menza?en.

Ready-made meals must be ordered two days in advance (via WebKredit or MobilKredit), but when you come to canteens without food ordering, you can choose from at least five meals.

The operation of dormitories is regulated by the director of MU Accommodation and Catering Services (SKM MU) and the MU Crisis Staff based on the current epidemic situation. For more information, please see the Accommodation and Catering Services website.

It is mandatory to wear FFP2/KN95 respirators indoors. 

Academic ceremonies and large events can be held if current legislation is followed.

The coronavirus epidemic affects not only the physical but also the mental health of humans. If you need the help of a psychologist in the current crisis, you can use the online consultation offer.

Students of Masaryk University can make use of psychological counselling, which is provided by the Masaryk University Students’ Advisory Services. Currently, the psychological counselling could be done only online due to government regulations. In the current crisis situation, MU Students’ Advisory Services has established a special emergency psychological counselling service with a shortened online consultation regime (Skype, e-mail) for coronavirus pandemic related topics. The request must be sent to the e-mail address koronavirus@muni.cz. Include in the subject of the report: Psychologist - student help.
