What are the benefits of the digital ISIC card?
With a MU ISIC card in the Alive App you’ll have all your ISIC benefits right in your mobile. Retailers and transport operators recognise it for discounts, including for receiving government-subsidised student discounts.
The Alive App delivers:
- Discount overview – easily search for discounts by category or on a map, and save your favourites.
- Exclusive offers – take part in competitions and get limited offers available only to ISIC card holders.
- Insurance overview – keep track of your active insurance policies and their validity.
- Expiry alerts – the app will warn you in time when your card is going to expire.
- Card number always at hand – display your card number easily and clearly for quick ID checks.
In order to use this app you need to:
- have valid school ID card with ISIC licence issued to you,
- download the Alive App (free in App Store and Google Play),
- activate your profile in the app.
You will also receive information on how to get the app up and running in the e-mail you will receive once your ISIC card has been issued.
What about using the ISIC App?
This is an app supplied and managed by the International ISIC Association. It is not primarily intended for the Czech market, but for international markets. Therefore, it does not include the services that students in the Czech Republic are used to and expect in the app (e.g. insurance, pairing of multiple cards, use in transport and many others). In addition, when using the ISIC App, there may be difficulties when verifying with benefit partners because it does not meet certain criteria that benefit partners in the Czech Republic require. To avoid confusion with the Alive App, from 1 September 2024, the ISIC App can no longer be downloaded in the Czech Republic. The ISIC Association officially recommends to use the Alive App to view your cards in the Czech Republic.
MU digital ISIC cards cannot be used within the university (they are not compatible with the university chip system). You need to use your plastic ISIC card for this purpose. An exception is loans in university libraries, which can also be made using the electronic ISIC card.
